Fallow’s Vale #6: Into the mines again!

So, we had a great session Saturday morning involving Val the warlock and Bud the warden.

2 Sentence Summary

Val and Bud descended into the mines on the rumors that the injuries to the miners where more than they seemed. While there, they defeated the source of the injuries, but discovered that there is a greater evil deeper in the dungeon.

Longer Story Hour

Val and Bud decided to investigate rumors that miners were getting injured, and that there appears to be something more than meets the eye.  The two adventures discover that one miner that was injured seems to have contracted some disease, and they take the miner to the Unity Temple.  They also notice that the miners are all living in squalor.  They go to the Moomin Mining Concern to get permission to go into the mines to investigate this disturbance.

Once in the mines, they go to the location that miner got injured, and are attacked by skeletons, including one that has pieces of flesh falling off it’s bones.  The one with flesh falling off its bones seems to be infected with skinrot.  On the way out they are ambushed by a goblin who they quickly subdue.  The goblin turns out to have 7 little goblin kids, and the two hero’s let the goblin go, so long as the goblin shows them the back route out and never comes back.

The heroes return the stolen goods and accidentally tell the Chief Engineer that they let the goblin go.  The chief engineer, already upset at their accusations that the Moomin Mining Concern wasn’t taking care of their employees, told them their services would no longer be needed in the mine.
