What I bought at Gencon

I only got to spend 2 days at gencon, but I got a number of good items.  I also missed out on a couple as well, which I was bummed about, but to be expected when you only get there on Saturday.  Next year!

What I bought:

Microscope: Great looking story game where you play out events that could happen over centuries.  Really interesting looking mechanics.  I haven’t had a chance to read the whole thing, yet, but when I do, I plan to write a review of it.

Freemarket: I had been eyeing this box set for a while, and the fact that I could get it reduced to $60 on Sunday with no shipping meant that I couldn’t resist.  I’m  going to take some pictures and post a review once I get a chance.  Really excited about this, but I have no idea who I’ll ever play it with.  Sigh.

Action Castle and Blackboard Jungle: Part of the Parsley Series of Games, where you are meant to emulate a computer.  I thought it might be fun to play with my students.

Remember Tomorrow: A cool looking Cyberpunk style game.  Haven’t had a chance to delve into it much yet, looking forward to it.

Sold Out:

Dungeon World: Sure it was only a sample of the first 5 levels, but I really wish I had picked it up on Saturday when I saw it. It was sold out when I returned the next day.

Fiasco: Would love a hard copy of this since it’s almost like a cooperative board game, well without the cooperative part of course.

Didn’t Know I wanted it, but now I do:

Do: Pilgrims of the Flying Temple: This looks really fun.

Mouse Guard Boxed Set: Saw some pictures of what’s in the boxed set and really made me wish I had picked it up.

They didn’t bring any copies:

Lacuna: Really wish I could have gotten a copy of this.  I know I can order it online, I just would have preferred not needing to since I was at Gencon.
