Every Friday I try and post links to interesting blogs and news from around the RPG world. Here’s some from this week:
http://newbiedm.com/2011/08/10/gencon-2011-wrap-up/ NewbieDM writes up his gencon experience including his thoughts on WotC’s Neverwinter initiative, some of the games he ran including rpgKids and Dragon Age, Drunken D&D and True Dungeon.
http://critical-hits.com/2011/08/11/quitical-hits-review-quarriors/ Review of Quarriors from Wizkids. Sounds like a fun deck building game that uses dice instead of cards.
http://www.gencon.com/2011/indy/sm/press/releases/GCI2011/2011.08.11.Press.aspx Gencon breaks attendance records.
http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/309944-cancelled-5e-announcement-gencon-anyone-know-anything-about.html Was WotC planning on announcing 5E at Gencon and then cancelled that announcement? Some people “in the know” seem to think so over at Enworld.
http://ndpdesign.bigcartel.com/product/carry-a-game-about-war-digital-dispatch-edition Carry, a game about war is finally available in PDF. Yay! I like this sense I still haven’t picked it up yet every time I see it at Gencon, but I keep meaning to. A really amazing game about a squad in Vietnam.
