Inspired by an old post on the story games forum for a quick game created by John Harper called Ghost/Echo. Using only two sides of a piece of paper, John Harper created a complete role-playing game. I’ve had a million ideas for different games, and I loved the idea of just getting a game done and complete. So here’s my idea. It’s called The Island, and is inspired by the TV show The Prisoner, as well as Lost and other shows in that genre. Check it out below!
I’d love to hear from other people if I included enough information to be playable, or if the seeds I put on the front wouldn’t be enough to engage some players.
I also have some information only for the GM, but I’m unsure if it’s necessary. It mainly gives ideas for different memories that could come back. What do you think, would you need that to play the game? Should the Players not see what kind of memories are available? I’ve posted it to the story forums Praxis boards if you want to comment there.
The idea is that everyone can look at the two sheets as you are playing to help you understand the game. I really like the resolution mechanic, which John Harper borrowed from the Otherkind dice mechanic.
