Pandemic by z-man games is a cooperative board game where each player is a medical professional working to find cures to diseases while also stemming outbreaks.  The game board has a passing resemblance to risk, with a variety of cities as the sites of the outbreaks.  Each section of the world has a different color diseases.  The names of the diseases is my least favorite part of this game.  Why didn’t they at least try to give each disease a name other than blue, black and so on?  You use cards to allow you to move around the world, and also to find cures to the diseases.  Each medical professional has a different capability, which dramatically affects how you play the game.

I really enjoyed the game.  It has a European sensibility, which means it combines a simple game mechanic with a deep play experience.  I look forward to pulling this out again.
